Overview
Jonathan's life revolves around his nine year-old son Spencer, and he's always deferred the big and small decisions to his partner Claire. So when Claire asks him to leave, Jonathan realises he has no home, no friends and no ambition. Except one: to try to preserve his son's happiness in the face of his parents' break-up.

When Spencer gets invited to a laser quest party, Jonathan is so distracted by over-parenting the situation that he risks embarrassing Spencer and losing his job.

When Claire invites a mysterious work colleague into her home, Jonathan worries that Spencer will end up with a new Dad. Meanwhile Dan and Courtney try to have a romantic night in.
S01E05 Episode 5
Jonathan worries he has no friends, so makes the terrible decision to go for a night out with his boss Keith. Meanwhile Dan starts to reconsider having children.
S01E06 Episode 6
It's Spencer's birthday and he wants the whole family to go a zombie-themed hotel. But Dan and Courtney are not speaking and Jonathan and Claire are still awkward since the kiss.
