Special investigators Varta Naumova and Max Shumov are assigned to a child abduction case. The measures they take backfire, resulting in a casualty. The kidnapper manages to escape with the girl.
Hide and Seek
Overview
In an ordinary looking apartment, a father and daughter play a game of hide-and-seek. While searching for his daughter, she is nowhere to be found... Later, a video is posted which shows the girl holding a sign with a mysterious set of numbers. But what do they mean? She’s the first of several children who disappear without a trace in a small industrial town.
Young detectives Varta Naumova and Maksim Shumov take on the complex case and… their own demons. Varta is a distant person and extremely protective of her personal space, while Maksim comes across as an easy-going sociable guy. Both have experienced trauma in their lives, and this case touches them on a deeper level. They become personally vested in finding the children and apprehending the kidnapper as they face their respective pasts.

S01E03 Episode 3
Another child goes missing. While working the scene, Varta has a run-in with a local journalist who starts digging into her past. The kidnapper calls the mother of the missing boy and demands a ransom.

A huge breakthrough is made in the investigation when Varta figures out the meaning of the numbers in the videos and is reinstated as detective.
S01E06 Episode 6
Investigators are forced to re-examine the case of Svyrydov’s missing daughter. Varta goes undercover to learn valuable intel.
S01E07 Episode 7
In a race against the clock the investigators look for the missing kids while also trying to find out what happened to Svyrydov’s daughter. Lies are brought to light and old wounds are exposed.
S01E08 Episode 8
Svyrydov has to make a incredibly difficult decision. Meanwhile, Varta is hot on the tail of the kidnapper.
